Spring and nature
Kevät on Suomessa erityinen vuodenaika. Talvi on pitkä ja pimeä, joten kevät tuntuu lahjalta.
Maaliskuussa lumi alkaa sulaa. Aurinko paistaa enemmän. Päivät pitenevät joka päivä. Kuulen lintuja taas. Linnut palaavat etelästä.
Huhtikuussa ilma lämpenee. Lämpötila on plussan puolella. Maa näkyy lumen alta. Maa on märkä ja musta. Kevyitä takkeja ja matalia kenkiä otetaan käyttöön. Lapset leikkivät pihalla.
Toukokuussa kaikki muuttuu. Puut saavat lehtiä. Ruoho muuttuu vihreäksi. Kukat avautuvat. Suomi on yhtäkkiä kaunis.
Kevätaurinko on lämmin. Kävelen puistossa joka päivä. Tunnen energiaa ja iloa. Talvi on viimein ohi. Pidän kevään tuoksusta. Maa, kukat ja sade tuoksuvat ihanalle.
Vappu on toukokuun ensimmäinen päivä. Se on suomalainen kevätjuhla. Ihmiset menevät puistoon. Syömme tippaleipää ja juomme sima.
Kevät tuo toivoa. Suomalainen sanoo: "Kun lumi sulaa, sielu sulaa myös." Kevät on rakkauden ja uuden alun aika.
English translation
Spring in Finland is a special season. Winter is long and dark, so spring feels like a gift.
In March the snow begins to melt. The sun shines more. The days grow longer every day. I hear birds again. The birds return from the south.
In April the air warms. The temperature is on the plus side. The ground is visible under the snow. The ground is wet and black. Light jackets and low shoes are taken into use. The children play in the yard.
In May everything changes. The trees get leaves. The grass turns green. The flowers open. Finland is suddenly beautiful.
The spring sun is warm. I walk in the park every day. I feel energy and joy. Winter is finally over. I like the scent of spring. The earth, flowers and rain smell wonderful.
May Day (Vappu) is the first of May. It's the Finnish spring holiday. People go to the park. We eat funnel cake and drink sima (mead).
Spring brings hope. A Finn says: "When the snow melts, the soul melts too." Spring is the time of love and new beginnings.
