Ostoksilla ruokakaupassa
Grocery shopping
Lauantaina menen aina ruokakauppaan. Lähikauppa on viiden minuutin päässä kotoa. Otan ostoslistan mukaan.
Kaupassa on paljon ihmisiä. Otan ostoskärryn. Aloitan vihanneksista. Ostan tomaattia, kurkkua, salaattia ja porkkanaa. Hedelmäosastolla otan omenoita ja banaaneja.
Sitten menen leipäosastolle. Otan ruisleipää ja sämpylöitä. Ruisleipä on aina tummaa ja hyvää.
Maitotuotteet ovat takana. Otan maitoa, jogurttia ja juustoa. Juusto on Suomessa kallista.
Liha ja kala ovat jääkaapissa. Otan jauhelihaa ja yhden lohifileen. Lohi on tuoretta tänään.
Ohitan karkkihyllyn. En osta karkkia. Yritän syödä terveellisesti.
Kassalla on jonoa. Odotan kärsivällisesti. Asetan tavarat hihnalle. Kassanhoitaja sanoo: "Hyvää päivää! Kanta-asiakaskorttia?" Annan kortin. Maksan pankkikortilla. Lasku on neljäkymmentäkaksi euroa.
Pakkaan ostokset reppuun. Reppu on raskas. Kävelen kotiin. Ulkona on kylmä mutta aurinkoista. Ruokia riittää koko viikoksi.
English translation
On Saturday I always go to the grocery store. The local store is five minutes from home. I take a shopping list with me.
There are many people in the store. I take a shopping cart. I start with vegetables. I buy tomato, cucumber, salad and carrot. In the fruit section I take apples and bananas.
Then I go to the bread section. I take rye bread and rolls. Rye bread is always dark and good.
Dairy products are at the back. I take milk, yogurt and cheese. Cheese is expensive in Finland.
Meat and fish are in the fridge. I take ground meat and one salmon fillet. The salmon is fresh today.
I pass the candy aisle. I don't buy candy. I try to eat healthily.
There is a queue at the checkout. I wait patiently. I put the items on the belt. The cashier says: "Good day! Loyalty card?" I give the card. I pay by debit card. The bill is forty-two euros.
I pack the groceries into my backpack. The backpack is heavy. I walk home. Outside it's cold but sunny. The food will last the whole week.
